Our History

At the end of 2019, a group of devoted Christians gathered with a shared vision to establish a new church in Moreno Valley, CA. Recognizing the importance of seeking guidance, they sought counsel from Pastor Mario Oseguera of Rios de Agua Viva in Pomona, CA. Pastor Mario graciously assumed the responsibility of teaching and preaching to the group, providing them with spiritual guidance and support.

As the COVID-19 pandemic and various challenges emerged, the group faced a season of testing and uncertainty. Despite the absence of a dedicated pastor, their faith and unity sustained them, enabling them to weather the storm and emerge stronger.

In the early months of 2022, after a period of devoted prayer and fasting, the group sensed a clear calling to invite evangelist Loammi Diaz to lead them. Responding to this divine appointment, Evangelist Loammi, along with his two sons, Caleb and Micah, relocated to Moreno Valley in June 2022. On June 12, Pastor Mario Oseguera formally installed Evangelist Loammi Diaz as the official pastor of the church, marking a significant milestone in their journey.

Guided by their deep faith and a profound desire to seek God's will, Pastor Loammi embarked on a season of intense prayer, seeking the Lord's direction for the future of the church. During this period, a transformative moment occurred as Pastor Loammi read a scripture from Colossians 3:2, which urged believers to "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." In that sacred moment, it became evident that the church's name should be “Vertical”, symbolizing a place where individuals set their gaze on heavenly matters, prioritizing their relationship with God above all else.

On a momentous Sunday, July 31st, Vertical Church joyfully celebrated its successful launch service, setting the stage for a remarkable journey of growth and spiritual fulfillment. Since then, Vertical Church has flourished as a Spirit-filled community, preaching the Gospel throughout the Inland Empire. With an enthusiastic congregation, inspiring worship, and a heartfelt commitment to serving the community, Vertical Church continues to thrive, serving as a sanctuary where individuals can set their sights on things above.
